The Pedal Power Foundation
The Pedal Power Foundation rides on the belief that every child deserves the joy of owning their own NEW bicycle

Our Mission:

The mission of The Pedal Power Foundation is to expand the opportunities to improve a child’s life one bicycle at a time.

Bicycles are powerful vehicles of change.  Not only do they provide exercise and countless hours of fun, they allow children the chance to experience life beyond their neighborhoods. They give children the ability to participate in after school activities, sports programs, access clubs, organizations, jobs, mentors, and adult role models. Our belief is that bicycles help keep children stay active and direct them towards the positive influences that can make a difference in their lives.

In 2011, the Pedal Power Foundation launched the “Passport to Pedal Power” program within the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix

The “Passport to Pedal Power” is the only goal based program offered within the Boys & Girls Clubs and provides children with an opportunity to earn their way to a new bicycle, helmet, and lock. Participating children learn value of setting goals, how to set them, establish a plan to achieve them, and work the plan for six weeks. Goals are set around the Boy & Girls Clubs core areas: Education, Lifestyles, Healthy Habits/Physical fitness, Leadership and Character, and Arts. Upon completion of the program the children are awarded a new bike at a special ceremony celebrating their success.

In 2012, the Pedal Power Foundation’s goal is to expand the program to more clubs through Metro Phoenix.
